It seems like these days there is a “Day” dedicated to everything. From International chocolate day to Defend the Donut Day, there is also Annual Pickle Day.
Well, that’s at least if you’re in the Lower East Side. Five days ago (October 15), Pickle Day is the world’s largest pickle festival. On Orchard Street between Delancey (where The Pickle Man was made famous in Crossing Delancey) and Houston Streets, the aim of the festival is to “recreate the original pushcart market that previously positioned the Lower East Side as ‘The Bargain District.’”
So for those who want to enjoy “all things pickled” and sample pickled delicacies from over 20 picklers and 30 local eateries, come join the fun and get a hug from the giant talking pickle mascot!
